House Call follows Dr. Ferrel Moots, one of the pillars of the Kirksville, Missouri community. After 50 years on the job, Dr. Moots is one of the only doctors of osteopathy left in this rural area who completes house calls for elderly and disabled patients. We follow him as he visits patients in their houses and grapples with growing older and the idea of his own mortality.
Cora Mitchell
Cora Mitchell grew up in Columbia, Mo for most of their life and has always had a fondness for telling stories, fictional or otherwise. After graduating high school in the Phoenix metro, Mitchell moved back to CoMo to attend Mizzou’s esteemed j-school and fell in love with the medium of documentary storytelling. Mitchell values personal-driven narratives and the good that can come from sharing stories of traditionally under-represented groups, all in an effort to make mainstream journalism actually reflect the mainstream of society.
